Talented is a replacement to the default Talent UI, with a lot of added features.
Feature List
- See the complete talent tree on a single frame.
- Create templates, for your class and, optionally, other classes too.
- Set a specific template as a target, and see it when you're spending your next talent point on level up.
- Apply complete templates with a single click, after a talent wipe.
- Share your current build with other, or any template you've made.
- Import templates directly from the Blizzard Talent calculator, wowhead or wowdb.
- Export templates as URL to wowhead, wowdb or the Blizzard Talent calculator.
- See other's template if they have LibRockComm installed.
In order to get access to talent trees for all classes, as well as tooltip description for all ranks of talents, you must also install Talented_Data, here: http://www.curse.com/downloads/detail.../9160.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

korsaorlong saidI downloaded and installed Talented and Talented_Data. I can create templates, but I am unable to apply them. How do you "wipe" the existing template to allow overlay of the new template?

Jahrek said'Apply' means setting your spec to the template you're viewing. It only works if you're viewing a template for your character's class and you have enough talent points to apply the complete template. 'Apply template' is perfect when you need to respec. Just go to your trainer to wipe your talent points, open Talented, the template you wanna apply and press "Apply template", and it will be done in a few seconds.

Lordfury007 saidHi, Great mod, small problem
As a lock (haven't tested it with any other class) say I put a talent point in "Demonic Embrace" (Bottom level Demonology talent) it shows the tooltip "Increases Stamina by 3% and lowers Spirit by 1%" which is normal, but if i add more, it does not update. The tooltip remains saying "Increases Stamina by 3% and lowers spirit by 1%"
I also get the warning on the tooltips "Effective Tooltip information not available"

To show Talented, simply press the 'N' key or press the talent Microbutton.

EVilvonbek saidhitting a problem.. and can't seem to find an FAQ for the add-on.
have been planning builds and setting hem as targets no problem till i installed the latest patch version.
now templates either will not stay when i close template mode after setting it as target, or if they do they seem to clear themselves of all data about 3 days later.
any ideas what's up. no .lua errors or other clashes with Talented, just the template and character profiles wiping every so often

When are you gonna update the 2.2 ( I think, maybe sooner) change for shammies in the restoration tree, Focused Mind. It's not 5% 10% 15% anymore. It's 10% 20% 30%

Jahrek saidTalent description is generated from Blizzard talent calculator or armory, depending on which is the most recent. If there is a mistake in one talent description, it should be reported to Blizzard, and Talented_Data will get the correction the next time it is generated.

kybush saidgreat addon. i just posted a message on blizzard asking for something like this, and one of the replies sent me to your addon. just one question, is their a document/instuctions on how to create multiple profiles, and then how to upload the profile after your talents are wiped clean? i tried creating a profile but dont see where to save or name the profile. im afraid to "click" to many buttons without knowing what im doing. thanks kyle

Balastrea saidHey just downloaded your Mod and really love the idea and possibilities however one thing I noticed or didn’t notice (as the case may be) was that there was no indication as to how many skill-up's were available. I could tell that I had some available but was not sure how many. I uninstalled the addon and went back in and noticed that I did in fact have 2 points available to spend. Am I missing something or would this possibly be a future addition?
